About us

Guillaume Nel Environmental Consultants (GNEC) is a privately owned SMME that was established in 2007 with a combined professional experience of 65 years. Our Team Includes: Guillaume Nel, Euonell Visagie, Cahlan Williams; Heloise Groenewald; Christoff Dippenaar, Divan Opperman, Carina Becker, Nica Kotze, Hetlie Liebenberg, Willene Cordier, Nardus Bosman, Rika Pienaar and Jimmy George. We also have a team of well experienced rehabilitation specialists and landscapers. Our office is situated at 45 Fabriek Street in Paarl and GNEC’s Rehabilitation Office and Nursery is situated in Hermanus, in the Western Cape.

The multi-disciplinary structure of GNEC produces a steadfast and holistic approach to environmental management, rehabilitation and landscaping, enabling GNEC to holistically function in the multi-disciplinary structure of the environmental management field. GNEC not only focusses on EIA’s, Mining Licence/Permits, Water Use Licence, Heritage Approvals and other related applications, GNEC also has a Fynbos Nursery, managed by a Botanical and Horticultural Specialist. This nursery is used for the propagation and rehabilitation of sensitive vegetation species of various sites. The installation of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) is also managed by the Rehab team.

GNEC has built up a relationship with well experienced and acknowledged specialists who forms part of our assessment teams as required. These specialists include, but are not limited to botanical, freshwater, soils/agricultural, visual, archaeological, heritage, social, stakeholder engagement, noise and fauna [and avi-fauna] specialists.

GNEC strives to keep abreast of the latest movement in the international environmental field through personal development initiatives and research. GNEC is also committed to local empowerment by skills education.
